It is not often that we have breed specialists to judge our breed and it is good that we have two in the early part of next year. Please ensure that you send in your entry to support our breed.
I finally received from the Irish Kennel Club, Blaze’s (Int Ch, AKC, Irish, Lux Ch Lorianna Sirius Star World Winner 09) European Winner 09 title paperwork through the post and with it arrived a Crufts International Qualifying Card, as the European Show like a number of other FCI shows is a Crufts qualifying show. Not that Blaze needs this card to enter Crufts given that he is the UK’s Top Canaan Dog 2009.
Eukanuba Champion Stakes, judged by Zena Thorn Andres, Sean Delamar (IKC President) and Ken Sinclair, was a well attended event and very exciting. Andrew Brace kept us all well informed with his apt commentary. There were lots of well known faces there at the Kennel Club building in the afternoon as well as at the dinner in the evening. Congratulation to Mike Bloxsome and the Eukanuba UK team who did a great job in organising this. The Our Dogs team did a great job on reporting the event and the dinner, not to mention the photos.
Last weekend the Kennel Club celebrated dogs at Discover Dogs. The Canaan Dog booth was manned by the CDC of UK. Hopefully someone will send in a report on how it went.
Both clubs have issued a newsletter recently to their respective membership. The British Canaan Dog Society (proposed) have issued their newsletter as a hardcopy with the option of having it emailed if a member so wishes. Anyone wishing to send fellow Canaan members Christmas Greetings ads, via the BCDS newsletter can do so free of charge. Please send them for publishing to Anne Barclay at bcds-sec@canaandog.co.uk.
