In January 2010 the Kennel Club  updated it’s rules governing the Accredited Breeder Scheme so that breeders of non-CC breeds can now have a stud book accolade on their listing. Accredited Breeders can now claim the Stud Book Accolade if they have bred three dogs of a non-CC breed which have each won Best of Breed in breed classes and/or Imported Register classes at three championship shows in the UK.

Previously this was restricted to breeders who had bred three dogs which had won their way into the Kennel Club Stud Book which is impossible to achieve with a non CC breed unless it excelled at field trials or obedience.

Accredited Breeders of non-CC breeds who wish to apply for this accolade should send the names of three dogs they have bred, as well as their three qualifying championship show wins, to abs@thekennelclub.org.uk or Accredited Breeder Scheme, The Kennel Club, 1 – 5 Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London W1J 8AB.
