I start this week with some very sad news. Terush ‘Bat Yerushalaim Shel Zahav’ owned and bred by Inna Blayvas of Israel passed away today the 5th April, just shy of her 13th birthday. We send Inna all our deepest sympathies at such a sad time. Inna and Terush have travelled the world exhibiting and Terush is the most internationally titled Canaan so far. They have introduced a number of countries and judges to the Canaan Dog and was the first Israeli dog to gain a Best of Breed at Crufts.
Moving to the home front we are likely now to suffer for the poor and irresponsible behaviour of some who could not adhere to the government’s request to stay, in unless taking exercise or shopping for essentials. The ‘exercise’ being taken on the coast near us has included, a family from Bromley driving to the beach for the day, BBQ’s and in town families celebrating a birthday in a public space. We have groups of people getting together locally in parks and ignoring the requests to keep apart. If this continues we will have further restrictions put in place possibly making it harder to walk our dogs. Please people be sensible.
On the show front, thank you Ellen Minto for contacting me to ensure I was aware that the Welsh Kennel Club had not at this time cancelled their show in August. It has yet to be posted for entry on the internet. The Scottish Kennel Club has posted this week the intention to re-schedule their Championship show from May to November with Utility now being on Friday 27th November (the day before the Nordic show at Ryton on Dunsmore). They intend to refund those entered for May with a small admin fee and will confirm new details when they have judges in place for the later date. Mrs Barbara Gold informs me that the BUBA Champ show has Mr Chris Quantril confirmed for the show on December 5th. So now we wait some more to see if the isolation period will be extended.
Stay in, stay safe and see you soon.
